This might very well be the best day of the year for cider lovers.
On Saturday April 28th from 1-5 in the afternoon 16 different cideries from around the province will descend upon us for what promises to be a great event.
Guests will enjoy the unique modern blue grass music of Viper Central while tasting an incredible range of ciders from up and down the Okanagan and as far away as Vancouver Island. It’s a true celebration of a wave of appreciation for the art of creating great ciders. There will be a variety of upscale food trucks on hand and horse drawn wagon rides to get you right into the orchard.
Most people know us for our wines, but the family history at The View began with the planting of an orchard back in 1918. The building which is now home to The View Winery and Wards Cider was built almost a century ago as an apple packing house to serve the southeast Kelowna Neighbourhood. So this event is part of our 2018 centennial celebration and we hope you can join us.
Wards Cider is the host, offering our full range of ciders which all start with tree ripened, cider specific apples grown on the property where they are handpicked, crushed, crafted and packaged. We are proud of our ciders which are produced using a long, slow cool ferment with champagne yeast. We look forward to pouring them alongside all the other great ciders that will be represented.
Participating cideries include Scenic Road, Naramata Cider, Left Field Cider, Twisted Hills, Summerland Heritage Cider, The BX Press, Salt Spring Wild, Sea Cider, Ravens Moon, Faustino Estate Cidery, Lonetree Cider, Burton City Cider, WestCoast Cider, Soma Craft Cidery and BC Tree Fruits.
