Reasons to celebrate our 2009 Red Shoe Red!
- Gold-2011 Cellars of the World Wine Competition
- Silver at the 2011 All Canadian wine championships
- John Schreiner rated it an 89 points!
“This is a great value, easy drinking red. The wine is generous in texture, with spicy plum and blueberry flavours.”
For five generations, our families, the Wards and the Turtons, have farmed this captivating South East Kelowna site. The grapes are gently handpicked from our 10 year old vines, and then artfully made into wine in our historic packing house, turned winery. With the warmth of the Okanagan sun, our dazzling lake exposed site, and the sandy loam soils, these grapes are world class!
Tasting notes:
Red Shoe Red is a juicy, medium to full body Pinotage blend. It opens up with dark stewed cherries, cassis and smoky notes. Lingering flavours of plum and dark cherry are nicely balanced by a vibrant acidity and pleasing tannins. This one is perfect on its own. Enjoy with anything naughty or nice!
